2026/2027 Session: Be wary of fraudsters, FUMMSA warns students, rolls out admission requirements

The Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA) has rolled out the admission requirements for the 2026/2027 academic session even as it warns the admission seekers to be wary of fraudsters.
According to the information made available to ThisNigeria, the admission process is in two folds: eligibility criteria and admission requirements for all intending candidates.
As part of the eligibility criteria prospective candidates must have obtained 200 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), choose FUMMSA as their first-choice institution while candidates must meet the age requirement; at least 16 years old on or before 30 September 2026.
The information states further that candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in the relevant O’Level subjects namely: Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics and Physics.
Also, the statement notes that candidates seeking admission into Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Dental Surgery, Optometry and Physiotherapy must obtain credit passes in all the five relevant O’Level subjects at one sitting.
“For all other programmes, O’Level results obtained in a maximum of two sittings are acceptable.
“Only results from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) will be accepted”, the statement clearly stated.
According to the statement signed by the school registrar, “candidates who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are qualified to apply for the FUMMSA Post-UTME screening exercise.”
The school management has disclosed that the date for registration and application would be announced shortly while it fixed N2,000 for the PUTME Screening Application and N4,000 fees for Portal Access, payable through Remita on the FUMMSA Admission portal during the application process.
Meanwhile, the school management has warned all prospective students not to engage in any back door dealings with any individuals as regards admission into FUMMSA.
“All information, transactions and payments will be on the University portal. There shouldn’t be payment to any private account. The University has not appointed any agents hence anyone purporting to be representing the University is FRAUDULENT. Please be vigilant”, the school management warned.
