28 year-old arrested for assaulting police officer

Caroline Olaitan, a police sergeant on duty, was assaulted by Florence Samuel in Osun State last week.
Samuel, a twenty-eight-year-old palm-wine seller around Balogun Agoro in Osogbo assaulted Olaitan after Taiwo Yusuf, a patron at the shop, raised an alarm that his money (N150,000) was missing. Samuel went on to attack Caroline and tear her uniform.
Samuel and another patron, Ayodele Ogundipe, were arraigned by the Police Command on charges of assault, breach of the public peace, conspiracy, and stealing which is contrary to and punishable under sections 356, 249 (D), 251, 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
Samuel and Ogundipe pleaded not guilty to the charges, and their case has been adjourned till the 13th of October 2020.
