Abuja-Kaduna kidnap victims: Families protest at Transportation Ministry

Families and relatives of the kidnapped Abuja-Kaduna train victims have blocked staff of Ministry Transportation from gaining entrance to the building.

This is following the release of a viral video, showing the abductors, mercilessly flogging the victims on Sunday, July 24th.

Reacting, relatives of the victims took to the Ministry to appeal to relevant agencies to intervene in the matter and ensure the victims are set free.

This is not the first protest by the families of the abductees since their unfortunate kidnap.

Recall that an Abuja-Kaduna train was on March 28, 2022, attacked by a group of bandits in Katari, Kaduna State, killing eight people and abducting other passengers on the train.

Part of the demands made by the terrorist group to the Federal Government is to ensure the release of some of their members in their custody.

Rotimi Amaechi, the former Transportation Minister recently resigned to contest for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, but lost.

He was in office when the kidnappers took the passengers for over 4 months after series of alleged negotiations.
