The Ogun state police command has arrested a man simply identified Samson Ogundele for allegedly raping a minor.

Samson, who is also an herbalist, raped the victim (name withheld) after she came to him for consultation at his residence at Referefu area of Oja Odan, Ogun state.

According to report, the incident happened after the lady, who is a hairdressing apprentice and her colleague at her training center, went to consult the suspect after a 1000 naira note went missing at their shop.

On getting to the suspects place, he called them in one after the other with a of charge of 700 consultation fee.

During the course of the consultation, two of her colleagues went ahead and when it was the turn of the complainant, he attempted to rape her which made her lodge a complaint with the police.

Upon her complaint, the DPO of the command, csp  Gabriel Ikechukwu ordered the immediate arrest of the suspect.

Upon investigation and interrogation of the other ladies, it was gathered that samson had carnal knowledge of a 17-year-old minor during the consultation, adding that he threatened to kill her if she confessed to anyone.

Confirming the incident, the PPRO of the command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that the victim’s defilement was confirmed through a medical report and the herbalist had confessed to the crime.
