“At Toptier Sports Management, we are proud and genuinely excited to be part of the NNL story. We deeply believe in the NNL.
We believe in the talent, the passion, and the potential that exist across the street and that belief is what continues to drive our investment and our commitment in the NNL. Today, I’m are pleased to share a major step forward.
“As a result of our investment and belief, we are increasing the financial rewards across board for all the clubs that will be participating in the Super 4. So this season, the champions of the NNL will go home with 10 million Naira as against the N5m last year. And every single team competing will receive a N2 million Naira participation fee. This for us is intentional.
“We believe that growth should be inclusive and it must reward winners and also strengthen the entire football system, so that, every club that is playing and giving their talent and their time does matter,” she said.
While acknowledging the leadership of the NNL, she also promised that Toptier Sports is ever ready to do more to the growth of the NNL and Nigerian football in general
“I want to be clear that while this is progress, it nowhere reflects our final destination. It nowhere reflects our final ambition for what we want to do with the league over the coming years. We are nowhere yet where we want to be but every step we take, every improvement, every investment brings us closer to building a league that is stronger, more competitive, and more sustainable.
“I must take a moment to acknowledge the leadership of the Nigerian National League, the chairman, and everyone that works with me every Wednesday. I think that we have worked ourselves into being one team on the same page with the same vision.
“But for today, the stage is for the clubs. And we celebrate all the clubs, but especially the clubs that will be promoted into the NPFL. I want to say once again congratulations
Also speaking at the draw, the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Bukola Olopade admitted that the NNL has transformed tremendously but there is room for improvement.
“There is obvious growth in our football. There is obvious growth in our league. I expect the private sector to come out now and support this league. It is the most important league in our football.
“And for those who don’t know why I called it the most important league, it is the transition from the amateur into professionalism to the elite class of football. So as you know, if you don’t play well, you go back to amateur. If you play well, you join the big boys. So that’s great. We move that great leadership, that great talent to the upper echelons,” he said.
Based on the draw, Sporting Lagos and Ranchers Bees will tackle each other in the first game of the Super Four Finals on May 4 at the Remo Stadium in Ikene, Ogun State while Doma United FC will take on Inter Lagos in the second match at the same venue.
The Super Four finals will be played on round robin format as the team with the highest points will be declared as overall champion of the 2026 NNL season.
