Adeboye didn’t meet, nor endorse any presidential candidate – RCCG

By David Lawani
Amid controversy surrounding the overtures by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, over the Muslim-Muslim ticket, the Redeemed Christian Church of God has noted that the General overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, will not be approving any candidate for the 2023 elections.

The RCCG made this known in a statement on their official Twitter page.

It has also denied claims that Adeboye met with the APC presidential candidate, Tinubu.

There were unconfirmed media reports that Tinubu met with the General Overseer of RCCG in the presence of other APC leaders to assure the church that there was no need to fret over the same faith ticket that has sparked mixed reactions across the country.

According to the statement, “It has come to our notice that some news outlets are reporting that a meeting between Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, and the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr Bola Tinubu, was held a few days back at the Redemption Camp where our esteemed father in the Lord was said to have supported the preferred candidature of the party the former governor is a member of.

“Pastor E.A. Adeboye and RCCG have not and will not endorse any candidate for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.”
