Afghan security arrests eleven alleged IS operatives
Afghan Security personnel have arrested 11 people affiliated with the hardliner Islamic State (IS) outfit in the central Daykundi Province, Afghanistan, head of the intelligence department for the province, Obaidullah Faizani, said Tuesday.
According to the official, the alleged IS operatives, have been arrested from Kajran, Gizab, and Ajristan Districts, and are being investigated to spot the network’s hideouts in the central region.
Twin blasts heard in Ugandan capital
Afghan authorities also launched operations against the rival IS militants in the southern Kandahar Province on Monday, killing four and arresting eight others, according to local officials.
The Taliban-led Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has vowed to crack down on hardliner IS or Daesh outfits in the country and won’t allow any terror groups to use the Afghan soil against others.
