After denying, EFCC admits raiding singer Skales’ home

The Lagos command of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has made a U-turn by admitting it did raid the home of musician, John Njeng Njeng, professionally known as Skales.
This was contained in a statement on the agency’s X handle on Tuesday.
The statement read: “Operatives of the Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, arrested two suspected internet fraudsters at House F10, Victoria Crest 4, Lekki, Lagos.
“The suspects: Udemba Chukwuemeka (a.k.a Jody) and Jamal Jamiu Onasola (a.k.a. Jamal) were arrested at the residence of a musician: John Njeng Njeng (a.k.a Skales).
“The two suspects, according to a statement by the agency, said to be involved in dating scam, described Skales as their ” mentor”.

“While Chukwuemeka has been in Njeng’s residence for two years, Onasola has only stayed there for few months.
“The anti-graft agency said they will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement read.
This is coming as the agency’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in an interview with Punch, earlier denied raiding Skales’ residence.
