AIF 4th National Junior Tennis Championship serves off in Lagos

The annual Adewale Isa Foundation (AIF) 4th National Junior Tennis Championships will serve off today at the Tennis Complex of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos with about 200 kids competing for trophies and other star prizes.

Laurels will be won in the under-12, under-14 and under-16 boys and girls events.

Alhaja Olayinka Adigun, (Nee Isa), who is bankrolling the championships with her siblings confirmed that as of Saturday, August 26 that over 15 states have already registered players for the championship which ends on September 2.

The sports philanthropist, while speaking with ThisNigeria at the weekend in the company of her brother, Nurudeen Isa, noted that the championship aims to discover burden talents and future tennis greats for the country.

“As of last week, we have received 108 entries from 15 states of the federation and club from Osogbo and more are expected to register before the championship begins on Monday 28. We expect about 200 kids this time around.

“Last year was great but this year we expect it to be a bigger and better championship, ” she said.

“It’s the dream of our late dad to discover and build tennis talents and that is what the championship is all about, to keep his legacy on with the Adewale Isa Foundation,” she added
