Reps summon service chiefs, NSA Ribadu over rising insecurity

The House of Representatives has summoned the nation’s service chiefs and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, to appear before the chamber over the worsening security situation across the country.

The resolution was passed on Tuesday during plenary following the adoption of a motion sponsored by Sulaiman Gumi, the lawmaker representing Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency.

Lawmakers expressed concern over the increasing cases of killings, kidnappings, and other violent crimes in several parts of the country, insisting on the need for urgent explanations and coordinated action from the country’s security leadership.

The House directed the security chiefs to appear before it to brief members on the current security challenges and ongoing efforts to restore stability nationwide.
