
The 17th edition of Akwaaba the African Travel Market has been scheduled to take place at Eko Hotel and Suites on November 29th and 30th 2021.
According to the Convener, Mr. Ikechi Uko, this year’s AKWAABA will be an opportunity to re-connect with the industry which has been the biggest victim of the Covid19 pandemic across the world, with its various lockdowns which prevented movement.
And after going through two depressions and recovering slowly, AKWAABA he said, will bring back the industry to life in Nigeria.
To achieve this, visitors to this year’s Akwaaba will have lots of activities to enjoy apart from the exhibition that is usually a major feature of the annual event.
Ikechi said that there will be a showcase of the Top 20 Natural Wonders of Nigeria. The Naija7wonders will be Unveiled on Tuesday the 30th of November by three members of the Tourism 100 Club who was recently upgraded by the Government and their Association.
They are Princess Surah Animashaun who got elected as Chairman EPE LGA Piriye Kiriyamo who has been Appointed as the SSA Tourism to the Governor of Bayelsa State and Nkereuwem Onung who Got Elected as the President of the Tourism Federation in Nigeria.

A presentation and recognition of the big Hotels in Nigeria, with the hope of connecting them to the Tour Operators in other to create a needed Synergy that will renew the industry, and various sessions that will feature the heavyweights in the industry.
The Exhibitions will end with the celebration of Lagos Day at Akwaaba. It will be recalled that leading hotels, airlines, and destinations including Dubai, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Egypt, Kenya, Gambia, Benin, Namibia, Sao Tome, and Principe, Libya, USA, Spain, and the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (UK) had all participated in the African Travel Market in time past.
