A former Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed has broken his silence on reports that he was invited by the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N9bn fraud.
Ahmed, who was governor from 2011-2019, was reportedly invited by the Commission over the diversion of funds to the tune of about N9billion from the coffers of Kwara State Government.
Reacting via his Twitter page, the former governor said he voluntarily visited the Commission’s office in Abuja and had since been granted bail.

“In response to an invitation by the commission via a letter dated 26th April 2021, I voluntarily visited the EFCC in Abuja yesterday with regard to a complaint about a contract awarded by Kwara State Government while I was State the Commissioner for Finance.
“I was not accused of any wrongdoing. Neither was I questioned about any N9b transaction. I have since been granted bail, “Abdulfatah Ahmed tweeted.
