Alleged rape: I have a moral obligation to support Baba Ijesha – Yomi Fabiyi

Nollywood actor and human rights activist, Yomi Fabiyi has said that he will continue to give some level of support to alleged child molester, Olarenwaju James a.k.a Baba Ijesha.

Fabiyi said this during an interview with City People.

“While I am not in support of what he did, I have a moral right to give him some support to an extent that will not tarnish my image or question my credibility as a human rights activist. He is my colleague. It is just people on social media that keep twisting my words due to their lack of comprehension, ” he said.

He further revealed that Baba Ijesha’s alleged victim confessed to having been molested by another man close to her foster mother, comedienne Princess.

“I went to see him in custody and he told me that there was never a time he raped the girl, contrary to a claim by Princess that he raped her when she was seven years old.”

On reports that Princess and Baba Ijesha had an affair, Yomi Fabiyi said that the embattled actor did not give a definite answer.

“He only told me that he got close to Princess when they both had marital problems in their respective marriages. He was not clear whether they had an affair or not,” he said.
