By Cajetan Mmuta
Leadership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Anambra State chapter on Tuesday warned political parties and their candidates against ignoring the body in the forthcoming November 6 governorship election in the state.

It stated that any candidate or party that neglects them would definitely regret the outcome.

The PFN through its state chairman Bishop Moses Ezedebego stated this at a press briefing held  in Awka Anambra state capital

It is on record that Anglican and Catholic churches over the years have dominated the political space to determine who gets what in the calculations during elections in the state.

According to Rev Ezedebego, PFN had constituted various committees with the responsibility to mobilize her members to enable them actively participate in the election, adding that the PFN has larger numbers than any denomination in the state.

He maintained that any candidate or party that ignores them in whatever form come to the November election would not be victorious.

“We have spiritual power to pray against such candidate and also have the numerical strength in the state to work against such candidate and party. We are ready for this election. We have mobilized our members to obtain their  PVCs. We are very much alert for this  November 6, 2021, election.”

“We have set up PFN for Good Governance Committee with the aim of galvanizing and ensuring good representation of our people in governance. PFN is an organized body of different mega-churches with one central leadership in the state that encourages good governance, religious tolerance, and the unity of the body of Christ” he said.

The cleric, however, congratulated all the candidates that emerged from the primaries conducted by all the political parties that would be participating in the November 6 poll.

Ezedebego also advised the candidates to do their campaigns without violence, urging them to run issue-based campaigns and avoid a violent approach since the election is not a do-or-die affair.

He called on youths in the state not to allow any candidate to use them during the campaign and elections day to ferment trouble.

“We have mobilized our teeming members in the state to arm themselves with voters cards to vote the candidate of their choice on November  6” he stated. What  Anambra State needs is a God-fearing man, a good manager of resources, a man of impeccable character and humanity.

“We need a governor for everybody; someone that will carry everybody along. We are praying for the right candidate to take over Anambra State on November  6, 2021.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), we want to call on INEC to be an impartial empire by giving all the candidates equal and level playing ground.”

“The INEC must resist the temptation of being used by anyone to rig the election. We are calling on all the voters to guard their voters after voting and resist any form of rigging in the coming election. Any money gotten to rig election is blood money and will bring generational curses to the people involved” he said.

He added that for now, they have not endorsed any candidate for the election.
