Anglican church strips cleric of ordination license, suspends him for life in Anambra

The Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion on Thursday confirmed the suspension and withdrawal of the ordination license of Rev. Canon Lumen Christi Eboh over alleged immorality and insubordination.

It noted that Rev. Eboh made himself a thin god contrary to his mandate to be a role model as servant of Most High God with the calling to draw souls of those willing to repent of their sins to Jesus Christ.

Deputy Chancellor/Registrar of the Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, Ben Uzuegbu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) stayed this during a press conference held at the Secretariat complex of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra State Council, Awka the state capital.

Uzuegbu accused Rev Eboh of alleged indulgence in immoral acts with women other than his wife, adding that several petitions and complaints were brought against the cleric while he held sway in the Anglican community in the state.

According to Uzuegbu, the embattled Eboh had history of impregnation of a lady who approached him for prayers and spiritual healing in addition to fraudulent activities as Well as lack of accountability while he was in the service as a clergy of the Anglican Church.

The vocal Senior Advocate of Nigeria stated that Rev Eboh refused to appear before a panel set up by the church to look into the complaints and petitions against him aimed at resolving the impasse despite several invitations and visit to him by members of the panel but rather chose to go to the press the day the body submitted its report to the leadership of the church.

He added that Rev. Eboh left the communion without giving axcount of his stewardship and therefore there is no way we can give details of how much he is owing the church.

Also, Sir Oselloka Offor said “A lot had happened and if not for the Archdiocese, he (Rev Eboh) would not have lasted in the church.
He explained that the Anglican Church never treated Eboh with ignominy whole he was in the God’s wine yard, stressing that adequate care was given to him and other as has been the tradition with the church and therefore it was lies and mischievous for him to claim that he was being intimidated and harrassed by the leadership of the church.

“All we know is that as a preost of the Most high God there are certain conducts that are unbecoming of a servant of God.

Recal that Rev Canon LumenCristi Eboh, had on Monday two weeks ago announced his resignation from office as a priest of the Anglican Communion in Anambra State, stressing that some forces in the church had caused his wife to leave him, and quartered her at an undisclosed place.

He also accused the diocesan bishop, Owen Nwokolo of alleged witch-hunt, intimidation and land grabbing.

Eboh who owns a charismatic congregation and prayer ministry known as God in Action Adoration Ministry alleged that the bishop wanted to take his (Eboh’s) personal land where his ministry is located .

He cited harassment, instigation and conspiracy by the diocesan authourities of the Anglican Diocese on the Niger, especially from Bishop Owen Nwokolo, as reasons for his resignation.

Eboh noted that his involvement in charismatic activities were at the centre of his conflict with Bishop Owen Nwokolo whom he accused of high handedness, intimidation and conspiratorial manipulations, leading to his decision to resign.

The priest who is a radio and televangelist further accused the bishop of insisting that the registered trustees of the adoration ministry be altered to include the bishop and his wife, a condition he resisted on the basis that God did not reveal the bishop to him as a vessel in the ministry.
