The Lagos State Government has received doses of the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccines on Tuesday.
The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu confirmed the development at the 2021 International Women’s Day celebration organised by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
Sanwo-Olu assured that the vaccines were kept in a safe place and urged Lagosians to continue to observe COVID-19 protocols.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile also confirmed the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccines.
“We’re making progress. The world will see the end of the pandemic. Good morning Lagos,” he tweeted.
Earlier, Ogun state Governor, Dapo Abiodun announced that he had received a jab of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday.
The AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Nigeria from the COVAX facility in India on March 2nd, 2021.
