Judicial infrastructure boost reaffirms commitment to rule of law, democracy — APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the recent expansion of judicial infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reaffirms President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to the rule of law, judicial independence and democratic governance.

In a statement issued on Thursday by APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party congratulated President Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike on the completion and commissioning of the Court of Appeal Complex, which it described as a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art amenities.

The party also hailed the delivery of a 20-unit residential quarters for Justices of the Court of Appeal and judges of the Federal High Court, as well as the planned commissioning of another 20-unit housing project for judges of the FCT High Court in Abuja.

According to the APC, the projects demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting the rule of law and enhancing the welfare of judicial officers across the country.

The party further celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of residential quarters for judges of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria and members of the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The housing project, being executed under the leadership of the FCT Minister, is expected to be completed by January 2027.

Morka said the infrastructure interventions were part of broader efforts by the Tinubu administration to modernise facilities within the justice sector and improve its capacity to meet contemporary demands.

“The delivery of these critical and massive judicial infrastructure projects reflects President Tinubu’s iron-clad commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting the rule of law, upholding the independence of the judiciary, and guaranteeing the dignity and welfare of judicial officers,” he said.

He noted that providing quality court facilities and decent accommodation for judicial officers represented a strategic investment in the administration of justice and the consolidation of democratic governance.

According to him, improved working and living conditions for judicial officers would enhance efficiency in the justice system and strengthen public confidence in judicial processes.

The APC also praised Wike for what it described as his dedication, leadership and effective execution of projects aimed at advancing the President’s vision for institutional reform, infrastructure development and national progress.

The party said the projects, unveiled as the Tinubu administration marks its third anniversary in office, underscore the government’s commitment to effective justice delivery, respect for the rule of law and the promotion of a vibrant democratic culture in Nigeria.
