APC accuses opposition parties of being visionless, directionless

Oladejo noted that a healthy democracy requires a credible opposition, but Nigeria’s opposition parties have failed to provide this, instead degenerating into a coalition of desperation, confusion, and hypocrisy.
He attributed this to a lack of leadership, cohesion, and a binding political philosophy, saying the opposition’s moral compass has been eroded, leaving behind opportunists united only by their desire for power.
The APC spokesman contrasted the current state of opposition politics with the era when President Bola Tinubu led the opposition, describing Tinubu as a master political strategist and democrat who built a coalition based on principles, ideas, and structure.
Oladejo said Tinubu’s administration has remained focused on implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda, introducing reforms to reposition the economy and restore national pride.
He criticised opposition parties for failing to present coherent plans for the economy, security, education, or social development, saying their strategy is to demonize government policies without offering credible alternatives.
Oladejo said this approach undermines democracy and reduces public discourse to noise and confusion, adding that Nigerians are becoming disinterested in opposition parties that lack vision and inspiration.
Oladejo said, “The APC finds it troubling that none of the opposition parties has presented any coherent roadmap for the economy, security, education, or social development. Such an unserious and visionless opposition can only undermine the progress of democracy.”
