The Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru has won nine out of the 12 local government areas officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.
The results showed that Nwifuru won in Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Izzi, Ikwo, Afikpo North, Afikpo South, Ivo, Ohaozara and Ohaukwu LGAs while APGA won Ezza North and Ezza South LGAs. PDP won in Onicha local government area.
The results of various local governments in the election were announced at INEC state Collation Officers in the INEC headquarters, Abakaliki.
The only result remaining is that of Ishielu local government area.
Investigation revealed that the APC gubernatorial candidate, Nwifuru also won the local government to bring the number of local governments he won to 10 out of the 13 local government areas of the state.
Also, four political parties have won Ebonyi State House of Assembly seats in the just concluded elections in the State.
Based on the results officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, three opposition parties, Peoples Democratic Party; Labour Party and All Progressives Grand Alliance have won one seat each in the House of Assembly election.
The PDP candidate of Onicha West, Charles Onu scored 4506 votes to defeat his closest challenger and candidate of the APC, Chima Ude-Umanta who scored 3596 votes.
The candidate of APC in Onicha East, Mrs Ikile Uzomaka who scored 2417 votes also lost to the candidate of the Labour Party, Celestine Ogba who scored 4056 votes.
However, the candidate of APC in Ohaukwo North Constituency, Mrs Esther Agwu won with 3426 votes to defeat the candidate of APGA, Mr Jeremiah Ekuma who scored 1204 votes.
Similarly, the candidate of APC for Ohaukwu South Constituency, Mr Chinedu Onah, was re-elected with 12,520 votes to defeat the candidate of the PDP, Mr Obim Okechukwu, who scored 6836 votes.
The APC candidate for Ezza South Constituency, Mr Friday Ogbuewu won with 8107 votes while his challenger, Mr Ifeanyi Nworie of the PDP scored 4986.
