APC’s Ukachukwu vows economic, security rebirth for Anambra

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the November 8, 2025, election in Anambra State, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has vowed to deliver a total economic turnaround, restore public confidence in governance, and tackle insecurity head-on if elected Governor.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Unubi, Nnewi South Local Government Area, Ukachukwu outlined his economic recovery agenda anchored on job creation, agricultural investment, infrastructure development, and women’s inclusion.
He told supporters that his administration would provide agriculture loans and grants to farmers, invest in rural industries, and revive moribund economic sectors that have left thousands of youths unemployed.
“Our government will unlock Anambra’s industrial and agricultural potential. We will make farming profitable again and create opportunities that will keep our youths meaningfully engaged,” he declared.
Ukachukwu, accompanied by his running mate Senator Uche Ekwunife, emphasised gender balance and inclusivity in governance, describing Ekwunife’s selection as a deliberate choice to bring experienced female leadership into the state’s decision-making structure.
He condemned the rise of armed gangs and politically-motivated violence in the state, promising to restore law, order, and investor confidence by strengthening local security networks and collaborating with federal agencies.
“We cannot build prosperity amid fear. The first duty of leadership is to protect lives and property, and that will be my top priority,” Ukachukwu assured.
The APC candidate also pledged to build a university in Nnewi South, with scholarship schemes for indigent students to study medicine and other critical courses, adding that his government would asphalt all access roads linking Ekwulummili, Unubi, and adjoining communities.
The community’s traditional and political leaders, visibly impressed by his detailed proposals, pledged their support, describing Ukachukwu as the “most pragmatic and people-oriented candidate” in the governorship race.
In his remarks, Barrister Kingsley Umenwa, Secretary of the APC Campaign Council in Nnewi South and a former council chairman, urged residents to vote massively for Ukachukwu, saying the candidate represents “the long-awaited rebirth of leadership and hope for Anambra State.”
Observers, however, note that Ukachukwu’s campaign pitch goes beyond promises of infrastructure; it is a direct political challenge to the ruling APGA and Governor Charles Soludo’s administration, which he accuses of neglecting key rural communities.
His pledge to reward loyal voters and rebuild the economy through private-sector partnerships has also drawn attention from rival parties, who see the APC candidate as a serious contender in what is shaping up to be a fiercely competitive November 8 governorship election.
