The world’s largest ship called “Icon of the Seas” is about to set sail in January 2024. This ship is an iconic and monumental fantasy according to the builders.
The ship manufactured in Finland by a ship making company called Royal Caribbean International will carry 5610 passengers and 2350 crew members.
The Icon of the Seas is 5 times bigger and heavier than the Titanic, weighing 250,800 tons while the Titanic weighed 50,210 tons. Thousands of people have booked tickets to be among its first passengers.
It is being called an improved Titanic. Many people are saying that the ship should carry enough safety measures so that what happened to the Titanic will not repeat itself.
The Mirror says, “Once a Champagne bottle has been smashed against its hull and it’s officially at sea, the Icon of the Seas will take the big ship record from its Royal Caribbean sister Wonder of the Seas, which is 14,000 tonnes and 3 m lighter and shorter.”
According to USA Today, “2024 Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, the world’s biggest cruise ship, has completed its first set of sea trials and is joining the fleet in 2024”.
No doubt the ship has already broken records and has subsequently won a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
The massive ship has gulped millions of dollars, however, the builders of the ship are yet to reveal the actual cost of building this gigantic monster.
A social media user said that all these people building these gigantic engineering concepts should be careful because man can never conquer nature. He added, “We learn from history that we don’t learn from history. Man will never conquer nature. But the mystery will continue. I hope you understand”.
The recent sinking of the submarine that went to see the Titanic has added to the trending of this ship.
