Benue: Agan women kick against growing insecurity, block federal highway

Women from the Agan community in Benue State on Friday kicked against the rising insecurity in their area.
The aggrieved women took to the streets to register their displeasure, blocking the federal highway near the Agan toll gate in the state.
The angry protesters were carrying leaves and chanting songs to express their frustration.
According to a resident of the area, the protest is still ongoing but peaceful.
“The protest is currently ongoing at Agan ward, close to the toll gate.
“It is just about the insecurity going on around the area. We are tired and need the government to act fast,” the resident revealed.
Additionally, the resident said different security operatives have reached the scene of the protest.
The protest comes as residents continue to face attacks and violence in parts of the community and state.
