A lawyer, identified as Benjamin Olamigoke Adewole (@realBennyLee on X), has disclosed that the case to shut down all ‘Ile Kewu’ (Islamic schools) in Yourbaland is ongoing in court.
In a video he made in a court premises and posted online, the lawyer vowed to close down the schools, claiming that it is where young people are being taught how to behead others for ritual purposes.
The lawyer noted that the case has scaled through the second sitting successfully.
Speaking the Yoruba language, the lawyer said in the short video, “We are in court, we are handling the case on how to close down all Islamic schools in Yorubaland, we will close them down and we are at a second sitting. We will close them because it is where young people are taught to behead others. You understand?”
Some Islamic schools have been indicted in the past in cases involving the killings of humans for money rituals.
A quick check on the X account of the lawyer revealed that he is an advocate against ritual killings and has always bashed Islamic schools and clerics for being the cause in Yorubaland.
