BMO to Gumi: Shut up, stop the distraction

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has advised Sheikh Gumi to shut up and desist from distracting the nation with his clamor for amnesty for bandits at a time the military authorities are pounding the criminals in their hideouts.

BMO said in a statement signed by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke that there is no basis for the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to order a halt to ongoing military action in the forests of Zamfara State and adjoining areas.

The group said it was concerned that the Islamic cleric could be vocal enough to say that the bandits were going nowhere in spite of ongoing air and ground assaults on their positions.

It added that Sheikh Gumi had, by those comments, confirmed his description as the patron saint of criminal elements that had been holding some States in the North West hostage.

BMO also commended governors of affected states in the region for collaborating with the federal government on the security challenges posed by banditry.
