Wike condemns Fubara’s letter to Rivers assembly

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has slammed the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara over his letter addressed to the state House of Assembly members seeking an audience with them for the implementation of the verdict of the Supreme Court.
During a chat with journalists on Wednesday in Abuja, Wike, described the letter as ‘useless’, saying Rivers Assembly Speaker, Martins Amaewhule and other lawmakers in the Rivers Assembly are not Fubara’s boys and should be accorded some respect.
The former Rivers governor said Fubara is not sincere with his pursuit of peace in the state but playing to the gallery.
“Letter to the Rivers House of Assembly is useless; he’s playing to the gallery,” Wike said.
This is coming after Amaewhule gave the governor a 48-hour ultimatum to represent the 2025 budget.
Amaewhule’s ultimatum came after the Supreme Court, in a judgement delivered by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, ordered the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resume functions immediately.
