The National Security Council is considering placing a ban on the use of motorcycles as part of measures to curb the spate of insecurity across the country.

The Security Council made this announcement during the FEC meeting presided by President Muhammad Buhari on Thursday at the State House in Abuja.

Speaking on the ban, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami stated that mining activities will also be banned across the country.

He disclosed that investigations into the connection between mining and terrorist activities have commenced.
