The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has said that Nigeria’s new national carrier Nigeria Air will start operation in the first quarter of 2022.

Sirika speaking after the weekly federal executive council meeting in Abuja said that Nigeria Air long overdue and the private sector-run airline will be in operation by early 2022, with possibly cheaper rates.

Recall that the idea for the new national carrier has been in the pipeline since 2018.

Sirika: had then said that: “The Nigerian Government will not own more than 5% (maximum) of the new National Carrier. Government will not be involved in running it or deciding who runs it.”
