The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended a former member of the House of Representatives, Honorable Chinyere Igwe for being in possession of $500,000, hours before the 2023 general elections.
Chinyere, who is a campaign coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was arrested on Friday, February 24
It was gathered that Igwe was caught along Aba road in Port Harcourt, with the aforementioned sum and a list of beneficiaries in 23 local government areas of the State.
Also on the list are security agencies and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
