The Jigawa state APC stakeholder’s meeting which was called at the instance of Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar at the govt house Dutse, Jigawa state ended up abruptly.
Even though no communiqué was issued during the emergency session, sources close to the meeting had confided to ThisNigeria that the essence was for reconciliation aimed to mend internal fences wrangling within the party.
The meeting which lasted less than an hour was supposed to thrash sensitive issues bedeviling the party. Least amongst was to access the party’s progress, and shortfalls. Again to deliberate extensively on issues of reconciliations among the aggrieved members, among other burning issues, but reconvene abruptly.
But when contacted, the party’s acting Chairman, Mal. Muhammadu Umar stated we digested extensively on burning issues affecting our party, only most of the issues are confidential, not meant for public consumption, nor be made public.
Findings by the Reporter revealed that the APC stakeholder’s meeting was initially called to discus on issues related to 2023 polity and elections and also to deliberate on how to scuttle Hon. Nakudu perceived move.
It added that the wide speculations of Hon. Nakudu’s gubernatorial ambition under the banner of the ruling party was brought about frictions, and division in the party.
It could be recalled that the emergence of Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu’s gubernatorial ambition has raised a dust, and division of the party into two consecutive camps, Nakudu Camp and governor Badaru’s loyalists due to Nakudu’s popularity and political strength.Issues which prompted the sacking of the party’s former Chairman, Habibu Sara to loose his seat to his former secretary Muhammadu Garba based on his loyalty to Hon. Nakudu.
All efforts to reach Senator Nakudu for further clarification and comments proved abortive as his lines remained unreachable.
But to the party’s acting Chairman such claims are blatant lies, unfounded, which lacks an iota of truth.
According to him, Senator Nakudu unlike any other APC member in Jigawa state has the mandate to contest whatever position he deems fit under the APC as member of the party, but I assure you his actions will never in any way shake the party, nor to be a threat to its progress and development, he declare.
Prominent personalities at the meeting includes the SSG, the Speaker, Hon. Idris Garba Jahun, Senator Danladi Sankara, Rep Members of Birnin-Kudu/ Buji Federal Constituency, Engineer Dau Aliyu, and his Ringim/ Taura Fed. Constituency, Hon. Ado Sani Kiri, all members to the state House of Assembly, alongside the 27 Local Govt. Chairmen’s, among other stakeholder’s.
