Fani-Kayode knocks Zamfara Deputy Governor for not decamping to APC

A former Minister for Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned the Deputy Governor of Zamfara state, Mahdi Aliyu for not dumping the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.

Aliyu declined to join the state Governor, Bello Matawalle and other elected officials in defecting to the APC since June 2021.

The deputy governor had said that he was never consulted by Matawalle about his decision to dump PDP.

He stated further that he chose to remain in the PDP to honour the mandate given to the party by the Supreme Court.

Reacting to Aliyu’s refusal to defect to APC, Fani-Kayode, a PDP chieftain, accused the deputy governor of betraying Matawalle.

“When a Governor decamps from one party to another shouldn’t his Deputy go with him? Is that not what loyalty is all about? Against his better judgement, @Bellomatawalle1 picked you as his running mate & made you Deputy Governor & now you undermine & betray him? Shame on you!,” Fani-Kayode tweeted on Tuesday.
