The rampant cases of Building collapse in the country can be tackled headlong if Experts in the building industry are consulted before erection.

An Ondo state based Architect, Ade Olasebiomo in a chat with our reporter said incessant cases of building collapse has become worrisome leading to loss of lives and properties in the country.

He noted that the consultation must start from the location of land, building plan, structural development and roofing with serious monitoring and supervision by experts.

Olasebiomo however blamed government for the skyrocketing prices of building materials due to bad economy.

A building contractor, Sunday Omogboye said the building industry in the country is now facing a lot of challenges like lack of quality building materials and high wages by artisans like Bricklayers, Carpenters, Plumbers and other artisans that has to do with building industry.

They urged government to have effective development control on building projects in order to reduce and avert incessant house collapse in Nigeria.

Besides, the professional body and other stakeholders must monitor building construction work especially in Urban centers, where skyscrapers are predominant.
