Chevron threatened with nationwide strike by NUPENG

Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) is threatening a seven-day assay nationwide sack as a response to unlawful lying off of some staff and contractors of Chevron.

It was reported that about a hundred and seventy-five members who were under employment contracts, as staff or contractors, were sacked through termination messages on their phones. These workers were affiliated to YKISH Integrated Services, Delgo Nigeria Ltd and EUROFLOW Services.

Chevron is asked to reinstate the workers within seven days or else NUPENG will go ahead with the planned strike. This was made clear by the President and General Secretary, Prince Williams Akporeha and Afolabi Olawale.
