Wike inspects ongoing road projects in FCT, contractor gives deadline

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday, carried out an inspection of ongoing road projects in the nation’s capital.
During his visit to the Wuye District, Wike was briefed by the contractor handling the project.
According to Engr Mohamed Eldaros, Managing Director of Arab Contractors, “About 37 of the road network has been completed with all associated infrastructures. We have achieved 60 percent, and within 20 months, not up to two years, we will be able to achieve the remaining 40 percent with the support of funds.”
The contractor also highlighted the completion of technical substations providing light, telecom supply, water supply, and other essential services.
“We have also technical substations providing light, the work is done and people are living there. There is telecom supply, water supply and all services are there.
“The road marking is what they are doing now which is the last aspect of the project,” the engineer said.
Wike also inspected the construction of the road linking the airport road with Kuje Area Council. The two-lane carriageway with sub-roads, making it five lanes, is expected to be completed by June 2026.
Eldaros assured, “We can promise you that by June next year, with the support we are receiving, it will be completed. We are approaching the dry season now.”
