Rev. Cletus Ezema of God is Great Ministry, Nsukka, Enugu State, has urged Nigerians agitating for one thing or the other to respect the sanctity of life and stop ongoing killings.
Ezema told our correspondent in Nsukka on Tuesday that nobody had the right to take the life of another as anybody that kills would face the consequences.
“No amount of provocation gives you the right to kill another person that God created in His own image.
“We should remember that we are on pilgrimage on this earth and one day we must surely stand before God, the creator to give an account of our stewardship.
“Nigerians should fear God by respecting the sanctity of life as anybody that commits murder will not go unpunished,’’ he said.
The cleric urged those hiding under the cover of Boko Haram, bandits, kidnappers, and gunmen to kill fellow Nigerians and destroy property to repent now and ask for forgiveness or be ready to face God’s wrath.
“No matter what you think is the wrong the government has done to you or your people, taking a gun against your country is evil and will not solve the problems.
“I appeal to all terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and gunmen to lay down their guns and embrace dialogue in order to escape God’s wrath.
“God is watching from above and will surely bring you to judgment if you continue to harden your hearts,’’ he said.
Ezema said that taking arms against the government was not the best as Nigeria remains the only country Nigerians could call their own.

According to him, those trying to destroy Nigeria should remember that the country is the only country they can call their own as they will be treated as migrants in any other country in the world.
The cleric, however, urged the Federal Government to urgently convene a conference to listen to the demands of agitators.
“This conference will enable the government to listen to Nigerians, know how to address their demands, and thus help to restore peace and unity in the country,’’
