Plateau Attacks: 33 suspects arrested so far

....as IGP deploys more operational assets

Thirteen more suspects have been arrested in connection with Saturday’s Killings in Jos, Capital of Plateau state, bringing the number of suspects so far arrested to 33

The high command which announced in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer CP Frank Mba, said that the Inspector general of police, Usman Alkali Baba has ordered the deployment of additional operational asset, including a Police Surveillance Helicopter, two Units of Police Mobile Force (PMF) Cells of Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), respectively to the troubled area in Plateau State to restore order

The surveillance helicopter, manned by operatives of Nigeria Police Airwing, is expected to carry out aerial surveillance and confidence-boosting patrols within the hotspots, in coordinated operations with the ground troops.

Baba assured that the NPF is committed to working with other patriotic stakeholders towards restoring public order in Plateau and other parts of the country.

The statement also said that the Head of the Police Intervention Team (PIT), DIG Sanusi N. Lemu, was already on ground in Plateau.
