Court remands tailor in jail for stealing pot of soup

A fashion designer, Adua Fatogun, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly stealing a pot of soup.

It gathered that the incident occurred on October 12, 2023, at Ifeleye Street, Ondo town.

Adua was also alleged to have stolen property worth N311,100 belonging to Felix Ogunbolade, Adeqoga Aboodun, and Akinsete Adurayemi.

Fatogun pleaded not guilty to the charge of burglary and theft.

The police prosecutor, Bernard Olagbayi, stated that the offences contravened were punishable under laws of Ondo State.

Olagbayi advised the court to adjourn the case to enable him to prepare witnesses for trial.

The presiding magistrate, O. A. Omofolarin, remanded the defendant to prison custody and adjourned the case to February 19, 2024, for trial.

This case has drawn attention to the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians and the lengths some individuals go to in order to survive.
