Plateau State government has said that there is no confirmed case of the Delta variant of COVID-19 within the length and breadth of its domain.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nimkong Lar, made this known in a chat with our correspondent in Jos on Tuesday .

In his words, “Plateau State has not recorded any case of the Delta Variant of COVID-19.”

He said, “the need to adhere to all the non-pharmacological guidelines of wearing face mask properly, washing hands frequently, use of hand sanitizer, maintaining physical distance and refraining from unnecessary social gatherings given the high transmission rate of the Delta variant is important at this period”.

He also called on citizens of the state to ensure that they get vaccinated.
