C’River Police Commissioner Dies of suspected COVID-19

The Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Abdulkadir Jimoh has died.
The police commissioner died of suspected COVID-19 complications in Calabar.
The Chief Medical Director of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Professor Ikpeme Asanye Ikpeme confirmed the death saying ” he was brought in to the hospital practically dead.
“He subsequently advised all those who where with him to visit the hospital for COVID-19 test and subsequently be on self insolation”.
Meanwhile the State governor, Professor Ayade has mourned the death of CP Jimoh.
 
Ayade in a statement by his Media Aide, Christian Ita described Jimoh as “a brave and courageous officer who was a central figure in the fight against kidnapping and other crimes in the state.”
 
The governor was also quoted as urging  the late Commissioner of police’s family to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity and total submission to God, the governor prayed the Almighty Allah to grant Jimoh’s soul peaceful rest in Ajana.
 
The Kwara State born Cop succeeded Uche Anozia this year as Commissioner and was posted to the Cross River State Police Command from the Force Intelligence Unit in Abuja.
