Curtain falls on 3rd Alhaji Adewale Isa National Junior Open Tennis Championships

All the survivors of the explosive semi-final games decided yesterday are ready for the battle royale.
Lorelay Hozendoff will play Temilola Samuel in the girl’s U-12 category while the boy’s final will be between Oluwaseun Ogunsekin and Amasiani Chukwubuikem
Also the final of the boy’s U-14 category will be between Onyekachi Oguejiofor and Bello Yauzar while the girl’s version will see Kadiya Mohammed squaring up against Mary Iorlumun.
Expectedly, the star match of the day will be in the U-16 category where Bright Emmanuel will play Eunice Iorlumun in the girl’s category while Oluwaseun Oluwasakin will face Ganiyu Mubarak in the boy’s final.
National junior tennis coach Ubale Mohammed has expressed happiness at the large turnout of junior players at the tournament.
He said in an interview with journalists that more of similar championships was necessary to move the racket game forward in the country.

He was particularly happy with the children of Alhaji Adewale Isa who have been consistent in organizing the tournament to immortalise their father.
“I’m greatly excited with the large turnout of junior players and the enthusiasm they showed in the week long competition and I want to say that we need similar tournaments on regular basis to develop the game at the grassroots.
“It’s equally important that I appreciate the children of the late Alhaji Adewale Isa who have been consistent in sponsoring the tournament in remembrance of their late father who contributed enormously to the development of tennis in Nigeria “, he concluded.
