A former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, on Thursday, was prevented from entering the Federal High Court to witness the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
In a video posted online, the entrance of the court premises was barricaded by a combination of gun-wielding Department of State Services (DSS) operatives, the Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence and men of the Nigerian Police.
Ezeife could be seen sitting outside on a white plastic chair while some lawyers berated the security operatives for blocking the elder statesman from entering the court premises.
Journalists, lawyers and litigants were also standing outside the court premises as they were denied entrance.
Kanu is facing charges bordering on treasonable felony.
