Dadu’ut fumes as gunmen kill 10 persons in Plateau

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked Pinau town in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing about 10 people while scores of others sustained various degrees of injury.

Meanwhile the Senator representing Plateau South Professor Nora Ladi Dadu’ut has condemned, in strong terms, the attack on Pinau Village in Mavo Chiefdom of Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State.

She further called on security operatives to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act is brought to book.

Dadu’ut said the attackers should be made to pay for their heinous crimes while describing the ugly development as unfortunate even as the government has been doing all it could to maintain peace in the State.

“I call on security operatives to go after those attacking innocent villagers and they should be made to pay for their heinous actions.”

Senator Dadu’ut commended Governor Simon Lalong for his peace-building efforts and called on citizens of Plateau south to stay peaceful with one another.

Earlier, Ibrahim Umar Bako, Chairman Wase Jukun Youths Development Association WAJYODA in a statement made available to newsmen said, that the sad incident happened on Sunday evening after the villagers had finished their weekly community market.

He added that the gunmen stormed the village and started shooting sporadically.

In his words “This created so much tension in the community and the entire Wase local government council.”
