Dangote Industries Limited has intensified efforts to advance its proposed Dangote Industrial City and Olokola Deep Sea Port Project with a high-level engagement with traditional leaders in Ondo State.
Dangote Group also described community partnership as critical to the successful delivery of the landmark infrastructure initiative.
The company disclosed this in a post on its official X page on Friday, saying a delegation led by its Managing Director, Infrastructure and Logistics, Capt. Jamil Abubakar, paid a courtesy visit to the Aheri Kingdom in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The delegation was received by the Maporure of Aheri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Ilesanmi Ikuemonisan-Mafo, during a meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the company and its host communities as work progresses on the project.
According to Dangote Industries, the engagement underscored the importance of mutual trust, community partnership and shared development in the execution of the proposed industrial and maritime hub.
“As part of ongoing efforts to advance the Dangote Industrial City and Olokola Deep Sea Port Project, a delegation from Dangote Industries Limited, led by Managing Director, Infrastructure and Logistics, Captain Jamil Abubakar, paid a courtesy visit to Aheri Kingdom in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State,” the company stated.
The company said the visit reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining close collaboration with traditional institutions and local communities throughout the implementation of the project.
“The delegation was received by the Maporure of Aheri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Ilesanmi Ikuemonisan-Mafo, in a meeting that reinforced the importance of collaboration, community partnership, and shared progress as preparations for the landmark project continue,” it added.
Dangote Industries said the Dangote Industrial City and Olokola Deep Sea Port Project is being conceived as one of Africa’s largest industrial and maritime hubs, with the capacity to transform Nigeria’s logistics and trade landscape.
According to the company, the project is expected to expand the country’s logistics capacity, strengthen regional trade, attract local and foreign investments, create employment opportunities and accelerate economic growth across the region and the nation.
