Davido bows to pressure, deletes ‘blasphemous’ music video from social media page 

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has finally deleted a controversial music video that sparked outrage from Nigerian Muslims on social media.

Recall that Davido had shared a music video on social media to promote one of his DMW artists.

In the music video, some men could be seen observing prayers the Islamic way and dancing to the music afterwards.

Angry at the artiste’s portrayal of Islam, members of Nigeria’s Muslim community slammed Davido on social media, demanding that he removes the video and issues an apology.

Also, many northern Muslims demanded that Davido’s songs be banned in northern states due to his refusal to remove the video and apologise.

Ali Nuhu, a popular movie star, was among the prominent Nigerians who called for a boycott of Davido’s song in northern states.

Checks by ThisNigeria on Monday showed ‘Feel It’ crooner had removed the video from his social media page.

However, Davido was yet to tender an apology or comment on the controversy as of the time of filing this report.
