The streets of Calabar were filled with striking medical doctors who staged a protest against the kidnap of Dr Vivien Otu.
Dr Vivien Otu was a paediatrician at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital who was kidnapped along Marian are in Calabar last Friday.
The protest included a march around the streets of Calabar that ended with a blockage of the gate of the Governor’s office, where they urged the government to find a solution to the menace plaguing the society and asked for the release of their colleague.
Responding to their protest, Eteng Williams, speaker of the State House of Assembly, informed them that the government is working to improve the security of the state.
