Don`t Blame our National Coaches For Not Inviting Local Players-Alloy Chukwuemeka
By; Ben Ogbemudia

Following the recent alarm raised by stakeholders in Nigeria Football over non invitation of local league players to the National teams, the General Manager of Bukola Saraki Football Club, Ilorin, Alloy Chukwuemeka said Nigerians shouldn’t blame the coaches for not bringing in local players into the National teams now because our league has not been competitive for sometime.
“We have a lot of players in the local league that have been given some time and opportunity to play in the national team. But, if you look at it from the handler of the senior National team like goalkeeper Nzenwa and others who are sometimes given a chance to be there. But, taking a look at what is happening now, you don’t blame the coaches for not bringing them in because our league has not been competitive for sometime now. We don’t just take a player who has no match trust and put him in high grade nation’s cup qualifier. So, we will allow him to do that. Subsequently, as soon as our boys are up and doing, we will look at them and consider taking a few of them as a division for the national team.”
On Pinnick Amaju’s conviction that the Super win the next Nations Cup, Alloy said his trust is based on the fact that he is a Nigerian as a Nigerian you must be patriotic.
” As the number one football administrator in the country, and from what he has seen, don’t forget Nigeria is football destination of Africa. It is just that we have refused to maximise the usage of our raw talents that abound but all the same. I give it to him. I join him to say we have what it takes to win the nation’s cup because we have won it several times before. so, it is not a new thing. It is like when people talk about where we are. And, where we are going, the situation that brought us to where we are and if you look at what we have done recently you will see that there is nothing we cannot do going forward. we call on Nigerians to pray for the team since it is going to be played behind closed doors .The whole essence is to qualify and i strongly believe that we have all it takes to win Sierra Leone despite we are also meeting professionals too,
The tentative date for the Nigeria Professional League to start, the Sports Journalist turn Football Administrator said the Nigeria Football Federation advised that the league will start anytime from the 15th, saying that ” is subject to club owners liaising with the LMC to come out on the exact date. That exact date must be from on the 15th and we are working on that. And, as soon as we are able to meet to look at the emergency situation occasioned by the covid19, the EndSARs security challenge and what have you. But, as i speak now, we are very much on top of it and it will start this year.”
On how prepared is Bukola Saraki Club ahead of the 2020/2021 league season, Alloy said whatever decision they take at the Nigeria National League Stakeholders meeting will also affect his team but presently in the Armature/ Profesional pre-season tournament.
” We will join the Ogunjobi Gold cup. We are doing our pre season waiting for the date to be announced for us to be there. Our target is to come back to the premier league. We have also employed foreign coaches from Cameroon.
When asked if Nigerians are afraid to invest in Nigeria football, the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Ex- Official said ” You see people cannot be afraid to invest in Nigeria football because like i said Nigeria is a football destination in Africa. It is for the NNL to make the brand that will attract forces. When they say you are looking for sponsors you don’t look for them. You make it look attractive then sponsors will now look at the platform you have created to cash on it and get the amount for the mileage. That is how sponsorship is derived. It is for NNL as we go into the meeting for a roundtable for us to organise our league better so that sponsors can be attracted. That is part of what we are saying that there needs to be a reform that makes the league competitive when you talk about the league investment from the NFF and those controlling the NNL. We need investment from the senior league like the LMC because you must make the NNL better to give you products that will participate there. This investment I have mentioned, we need to put a brand that will not only attract investors that will put money that we will use to make the game what we think it should be.”
