Don’t derail 2023 polls, cleric urges politicians

An Islamic scholar and the chief Imam of Etioro, Sheikh Ibrahim Oyeniyi has cautioned politicians against any act that can derail the present nascent democracy and the 2023 general elections.

Oyeniyi who is the Chief Imam of Etioro in Akoko Southwest area of Ondo state spoke while delivering his sermon at today’s jummah service.

He particularly referred to some actions of the two principal political parties calling for caution.

The cleric urged Nigerians to be more politically conscious and refused to be bought or given empty promises that will further add to our problems.

Oyeniyi appealed to religious leaders to be more truthful and continue to give divine direction to all the leaders.

The Islamic Scholar appealed to Muslims and non muslims to be prayerful to fellow Nigerians in Ukraine as government was doing its best to cater for their welfare and evacuate them from the war zone.

He appealed for more religious enlightenment during the forthcoming Ramadan and also pray for unity and prosperous Nigeria.

The Chie Imam lamented the hardship encountered by Nigerians on the lingering fuel scarcity across the country, calling for more proactive steps by government to reduce the sufferings of Nigerians.
