He stressed that it was a laudable development that the Federal Government had promised to increase funding of education under this administration adding that this must be seen implemented to the letter.

“On government scale of preference, it should be provision of food for the masses, health care delivery, the next programme should be education, and over time this sector had suffered utter neglect to the detriment of the scholars, stakeholders and the parents as well.

“We must not continue in this trajectory if Nigeria must be counted among commity of great nation in the world, Oyero disclosed.

He continued: “Education builds the people, nation, enhance human development and any government that does not take education serious has put the future of such nation in jeopady”.

He, however, admonished the current government to show enough political will to take education out of the wood it found itself at the moment.

He elicited hope that the introduction of students’ loan would be handy for the indigent students if it is properly implemented.

He therefore, called on the Federal Government not to allow politicians to highjiack the programme.
