Tragedy struck the family of Senator Abba Moro, the Senate Minority Leader representing Benue South, as he lost his son, Victor Moro, and grandson, Abba Moro Jr, within a span of just 48 hours.
Victor, a fresh graduate who had just returned from Turkey to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, died in a fatal car accident along the Mararaba axis in Nasarawa State, barely a day after his nephew’s burial.
Meanwhile, the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, in a message signed by his media aide, Terver Akase on Monday, consoled the lawmaker, describing the incident as a heartbreaking double tragedy that words can hardly express.
He noted that the pain of losing two family members in such quick succession was beyond comprehension.
Ortom said “that the death of Victor Moro, a young man full of promise who had just completed his studies in Turkey and returned home to serve his country under the National Youth Service Corps, only for his life to be cut short in a fatal motor accident is especially devastating.”
