A lawyer, Liborous Oshoma has accused the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of doing a terrible job of holding the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) accountable for all the current happenings around the country.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV monitored by THISNIGERIA, Oshoma described the PDP as ” almost non-existent” in terms of clamping the activities of APC, in regards to the suspension of the microblogging platform, Twitter by the Federal Government.
“It is a notorious fact The PDP as an opposition party is almost non-existent in terms of clamping the activities of the APC or holding them accountable to the fundamental objectives and directive principles of state policies,” he said.
Liborous Oshoma described the suspension of Twitter by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as “draconian, unconstitutional and not backed by any law in the constitution.”

The lawyer also faulted the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami for ordering the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation to immediately commence the prosecution of any Nigeria that uses Twitter following its ban.
“What the AGF did was to show that he had no allegiance to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Not even the National Broadcasting Commission had the power to enforce the ban on media organisations in the country. They were dictatorial in their approach.
“Even Malami has violated the ban by logging in to deactivate his account and tweeting about it. How did he access Twitter when network providers have been ordered to block Nigerians access to the platform?. This means he also used a Virtual Private Network, which is also a violation of the suspension. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. How do you want people to take you seriously?
“Nigerians are losing millions of naira every day with this suspension. How can you put such in place without providing alternatives for those whose source of livelihood depend on Twitter? It is a shame on the government,” he stated.
