Aba residents demand end to Ebubeagu militia

Residents of Aba, the commercial city of Abia state have called on the state government to put an end the local security outfit, Ebubeagu militia.

In a protest on Tuesday, the residents were seen carrying placards with different inscriptions, demanding an end to the “reign of terror” of the security operatives.

Ebubeagu militia is a local security outfit specifically created to protect and safeguard lives and properties of the people of the southeast region.

However, the people of Aba are clamoring for it to be disbanded as it has failed to fulfil its primary duty, adding that instead of protecting the people, the security outfit has been unleashing terror and killing residents, especially the youths in the state
